Structure

Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees is composed of representatives from various fields. It guarantees that the funds donated are spent according to the stipulations of the individual donors.

Project Review Committee

The Project Review Committee undertakes regular reviews to ensure that the projects sponsored by the Foundation are being selected carefully and in line with the founders' specifications. Moreover, it verifies that these projects are being handled and monitored professionally. Its members are designated by the Board of Trustees.

Foundation Office

The Foundation office is responsible for the operating and administrative affairs of the Women Empowering Foundation. As part of project management, it evaluates eligible charitable projects and looks into possible partners. It presents the project applications to the Board of Trustees for decision-making. It monitors the execution of the projects being sponsored - in the case of special projects also reviewing implementation on-site - and manages payments of the amounts granted. Moreover, it is responsible for determining the investment strategies for the assets of the Foundation and the individual sub-foundations, for liquidity management, and for accounting.

Sub foundations

The sub-foundations are separate vehicles that have their own policies for granting awards and their own assets, and which benefit simply and cost-effectively from the infrastructure and processes of our foundation as the umbrella organization.

Every sub-foundation has its own grants committee. This committee selects the projects to be supported by the sub-foundation. Donors, or any individuals whom they designate, may also become involved in the sub-foundation in question by taking a seat on the grants committee alongside the experts appointed by the Board of Trustees.

Sub Initiatives

The sub-initiatives are formed by individuals or groups engaged in a concept involving charity work and do not have an organization or legal entity. Our Foundation provides the physical location, administrative structure and legal means to provide them with much the same set-up options as would a foundation of their own.
